About In My Father's Steps

All of us have learned from the various people in our lives.  We have matured and developed our values with the help of family, teachers, faith communities and friends.  Each chapter in this book is the story of an actual father and son, taken from interviews and written after critical reflection, a process necessary to proper anthropological methodology.  The contributions were gathered from a broad base of geographical and ethnic backgrounds.  They are presented here with the hope that they will encourage the readers to reflect upon relationships with their own fathers and sons.  Such stories may even initiate healing where healing is needed, and better understanding where it may be required.  Mothers and daughters could find the inner feelings of these men of interest as they reflect upon their relationships with their fathers, husbands and sons.  Perhaps wives, mothers, daughters and friends will gain new insights into the man they love.

Testimonials:

“In My Father's Steps...helped me put into words the relationship I have with my father, and helped me realize how unique are all father-son relationships.”  Ian Galvin, age 19.

“A great book for allowing me to find my story, and with that, I now realize the love my father has for me, and I for him.” Josh Scott, age 15

“In My Father's Steps invites the reader to reflect on the father/son relationships in which they have been involved, and helps the reader put language on that experience.  Men of all ages will benefit from the generosity of emotion and love given by the contributors”  Mary Lou Hahn-Setta, Youth Minister and mother of three.

“This book has provided me with an insight into the relationship between my husband and his father.  It is now so much clearer to me that, like the fathers and sons in this book, they do have a way to communicate.  A must read for all wives and mothers.”  Cathi Pascoe, Human Resource Manager and mother of two.
